Sooth·say·er (so͞oTHˌsāər) n.
: someone who makes predictions about what is going to happen in the future.
We are Soothsayer Hot Sauce; purveyors of homemade, hand bottled, all natural, small batch hot sauce from Chicago, Illinois. We are very proud of our hometown heritage and strive to incorporate it into all aspects of our operation. From produce to design to printing, we strive partner with area businesses and artists to promote growth and creativity in our own backyard.
Our vegan, mostly gluten free products are all recipes of our own creation and contain little added sugar (only two recipes contain any sugars at all) and no chemical preservatives of any kind. Unlike a number of our industry peers, it is not our aim to bring you to tears, ‘light your ass on fire’ in any number of gaudy ways depicted on so many raunchy labels, and do not serve to challenge/punish your friends and family. Focusing on taste over punishment, we create flavor profiles meant to accentuate and assist foods rather than demolish and destroy palates. If you are looking to prove your masculinity as a Scoville scale strongman, you’ve come to the wrong place. But if you enjoy adding a burst of heat and flavor to your favorite meals and snacks, we’re happy to help. With fifteen (15!!) international awards under our belts, we dare say that we’ve become a fan favorite for flavor seekers everywhere.
As part of our commitment to independent venture and art, we work with bands in the Chicago, national, and international punk and metal communities to develop themed, limited run hot sauces. From a sprayable sauce for a police themed punk band to releasing the first ever album via hot sauce, we try to craft products as unique as the bands we work with. Some of our collaborators have included:
